Hi everyone! I mentioned a home spa device that both my mom and I are obsessed with in the post “5 Things I Learned About Beauty from my Korean Mother“. It was a very brief mention so I’m happy to tell you more about it in this post. It’s called the Lady S Home Spa Device that Korean skincare brand Racinne kindly gave me and my mom to try. It’s a small handheld device that packs five features into one device.
Here’s a rundown of the five features included in the Lady S:
- Micro-current therapy: Reduces fine lines and improves skin elasticity
- Micro vibration therapy: Reduces fine lines and improves skin elasticity
- Red light / LED light therapy: promotes elastin and collagen production
- Iontophoresis: improves absorption of skincare nutrients
- 42 deg C: ideal temperature to promote collagen synthesis
To give you some comparisons, I actually looked into some facial contouring and rejuvenating devices before trying the Lady S. There’s the NuFACE Trinity Facial Trainer, which I tried at SpaceNK when I was in San Francisco, and it has one feature, micro-current therapy, and retails for $325US. Osmotics Cosmeceuticals has a device 3-in-1 device that retails for $298US but it doesn’t include micro-current therapy. Nothing I looked at had nearly close to 5 features. The Lady S device is only $249CAD, and there’s a July/August special going on that makes it an even better deal (see end of post).
How to Use Lady S
The Lady S fits easily in my hands and it’s SO easy to use. First you put on a layer of a water-based serum, like the Youth Power Anti-Aging Serum, which my mom and I use. It’s important that it’s water based so that the iontophoresis function works. You turn it on to one of two settings, Spa mode or Fit mode (my favorite is the Spa Mode), and you just gently press it into your skin and move it around slowly in circles, focusing on one area at a time. It’s SO relaxing. I like the Spa mode because the heated function feels great on my skin. You can do it for 5 minutes or 10-20 min, however long you like. You can even use it over a sheet mask, which I haven’t tried yet but can’t wait to try.
Its use is not limited to the face. I’ve actually used it on Fit mode over my thighs. It takes a lot longer but if you’re patient it’s a great treatment for toning your legs.
I can tell you how nice the device feels but nothing is more exciting than real results. After I learned how to use the device, I showed my mom how to use it and gave it to her to try. You have to understand that my mom is a very low maintenance person who likes to keep things simple and efficient. I wondered if she would find the Lady S frivolous and an unnecessary extra step in her routine.
My mom loved it from the first try. After the first use (she used it for about 10 min), her pores were minimized and the deep lines around her mouth looked less prominent. She used it consistently over the next couple of weeks and she said that several people had remarked on the brightness and suppleness of her skin. When I saw her I could see it too. Her skin looked tighter and younger and she looked rested and youthful.
My mom and I share custody of the Lady S, so I’m planning to invest in my own device so I can use it more consistently. This is a great month to get it because Racinne has an August promo.
This month, buy a Lady S Home Spa Device and receive a Aqua Blanc Brightening Concentrate for free ($49 value).
AND, if you visit the new Racinne kiosk at Richmond Centre, you can try out the Lady S device. You get free Youth Power Anti-Aging Serum if you get a before & after image done!
You can also save 20% off any regular priced Racinne products with code Jenny20.
