Damon and I took a few days off work last month and traveled to the San Francisco Bay Area. Friends of mine from San Jose were getting married at the end of the month in Mexico, which we weren’t able to attend, so we went to their pre-wedding picnic in San Jose in lieu of their wedding.
We experienced amazing weather as soon as we touched down in San Francisco. It was warm enough that I could wear my Rachel Parcell pocket bordeaux dress without a coat. We’d come from a place that was wet, dark, and cold and I felt my mood lift immediately in the warm and sunny weather. I felt so happy. I don’t think I was unhappy back home, but I think the perpetually grey and rainy weather certainly took a toll on my mood.
We stayed with my friend Catherine at her beautiful new home in Palo Alto. Every time she moves I get to experience a new part of the Bay Area. Palo Alto is my favorite so far. Damon and I both felt like we could see ourselves living in Palo Alto. We love the neighborhood and spent more time walking and exploring in Palo Alto than we did in downtown San Francisco. We even looked up Palo Alto real estate prices (very similar to Vancouver it turns out).
Catherine and I took these photos on Stanford campus (thanks to Damon for being our photographer). Stanford was as beautiful as I remembered. I fell in love with Stanford on my last visit (see photos here) and couldn’t wait to show Damon. It was a gorgeous day and we spent half of the day exploring. We went to the modern art museum, ate lunch, had coffee, and experienced Stanford campus life. We miss Palo Alto already!
